If you need a residency permit for your studies or your stay in Austria, there are a few things to consider. For example, it is mandatory that you provide proof of "health insurance covering all risks" (§ 11 para. 2 no. 3 NAG (Settlement and Residency Act)).
With Care Austria you are on the safe side, because all plans (Care Austria, Care Austria Education, Care Austria 364 and Care Austria 364 Education) are recognized by the authorities for the granting of a residency permit. In Austria, these are the municipalities and district authorities: for example, MA 35 in Vienna.
*The City of Vienna (MA35) officially confirms the acceptance of the Care Austria and Care Austria und Care Austria Education product:
"Care Austria: The company Care Concept, in cooperation with Advigon Versicherung, has launched a health insurance product "Care Austria" with an unlimited term. The product meets the requirements of § 11 Abs. 2 Z 3 Niederlassungs- und Aufenthaltsgesetz (NAG) in accordance with the VwGH ruling of 7.12.2016, GZ. Fe 2015/22/0001-7, whereby an additional contractual declaration by the companies is not required."

No additional declaration regarding your contract is required for these insurance policies.
If you apply for an EU long-term residence permit, you must take out a different insurance policy. The Care Austria and Care Austria Education insurance policies automatically end when you receive the EU long-term residence permit.
Care Austria offers the same benefits as the Austrian statutory health insurance fund and, in some cases, even exceeds it. And students even pay a more affordable premium.
